The Florida Oil Spill Information Line is available from 8am-6pm EDT daily for citizens’ questions at 888-337-3569.
PATLive receptionists field calls from concerned citizens and visitors regarding the oil spill and its affect on the environment and economy. The purpose of the hotline is to facilitate the dissemination of accurate information about the spill, containment, and clean up efforts. In addition, callers can inquire about what are the current efforts to stop and contain the oil, how to volunteer, how to report oiled shorelines, what beaches have been affected, and what health concerns are associated with water and air contamination, and a host of other pertinent information. The hotline is currently receiving between 150 -200 calls per day.
